CORA’S IGC is a Certified Adult Day and Adult Day Health with Intergenerational focus., which provides structured socialization for our guests, as well as respite for caregivers. Our hours of operation are Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 6:00 pm.
Yes. We are certified by NC Department of Health and Human Services Division on Aging. We also are certified in three specialty areas: Alzheimer’s, Dementia and Parkinson’s Disease.
In addition to a monthly newsletter, we provide a daily activity schedule and special events calendar. The daily activity schedule provides details about the programs throughout the day. We have time set aside for social hour, current events, group and individual activities (crafts, baking, games, etc.), health updates, and more. Our day also includes exercise and movement and a nutritious lunch. We also plan weekly intergenerational activities with the children co-located at the Marizetta Kerry Child Development Center.
At CORA’S IGC, we ask that our neighbors attend on a regular basis. This not only develops a schedule for your loved one, but it also helps them to establish a relationship with the staff and other guests. A neighbor may choose to attend every day or just a few days a week.
We are newly certified, but we anticipate being filled very quickly. If there are no openings, we will place your name on a wait list and notify you immediately when a space becomes available. We encourage you to go through the application process even if the day you wish to attend is full.
We recommend a tour first. We will ask you to fill out an application for enrollment and have a medical information form filled out by your primary care provider. Once we receive those two forms, we can schedule an intake assessment. This is an opportunity for our Healthcare Coordinator to assess whether CORA’S IGC can meet the needs of the applicant. A decision is usually made within five business days.
